So... Once again I am using DeviantArt as a procrastination tool to delay the completion of an essay. The
Reconquista and the Spanish conquest of The New World aka the Americas is not my bag, baby. It is rather fascinating though that, had the Spanish not brought cold pox and other diseases with them, the Aztecs would have overthrown Hernán Cortés and changed the course of history. If Motecuzoma hadn't gotten sick the night they drove the Spaniards away, they would have killed the retreating Spaniards and discouraged further Spanish expeditions and expansion and, had this happened, it's entirely possible I would not be sitting here procrastinating right now. Sigh... Aztecs are fascinating. Having to write an essay on whether America was 'discovered' or 'invaded' is not.
*Grumble* So... in other news I went and saw Star Trek. I must confess that I thought it was awesome. Having said that I've never seen anything else to do with Star Trek, as I always wrote it off as a freaky nerd thing. I've known Trekkies and they more or less scared me into not watching it. hehehe. But I guess it makes sense that I would like it given that I love pretty much all things science fiction. And I do mean science fiction,
not sci-fi. If you don't know the difference, I'm not explaining it to you and you probably don't deserve to know. If you're curious, go look it up.
Anyway. The only unsatisfactory thing about the movie was that about ten minutes from the end the fire alarm went off in the cinemas and we all had to evacuate. It turns out that some little kid shit head thought it would be an awesome idea to pull the fire alarm switch in a different cinema. Whoever their parents are, they need a good talking to. Who lets their 13 year old be out at midnight on a school night running a muck pulling fire alarms at cinemas?! But whatever. They told us we'd get free tickets. So tonight we are going to go finish the movie courtesy of Southbank Cinemas. It won't be on the 25 metre IMAX screen this time, so I am kind of pissed... But whatevs. At least I get to know what happens.
Eh... I should go get back to writing my essay. Everyone should favourite Josh and my contest entry into the Wacom 'Good vs. Evil' competition on May 30th. Give us popularity votes. Haha. I'm pretty sure it's a lost cause and there is no change we will win, but whatever. Entering it in the competition was secondary anyway. It is primarily a gift to Indy, Khi and Zeph who keep sending us pictures, so we said we would draw them one. Anyway.
Favourite us on on May 30th - June 4th. I command thee.
